13. Life Membership – An extract from the club By-Laws
13.1. Introduction:
Life Membership is a prestigious Award. It is the highest Award available to recognise the outstanding, distinguished and exceptional service of an individual to the Riverton Calisthenics Club. As a result of this service/contribution, there should have been some significant change, improvement or advancement to the Club.
Life Membership is therefore only to be awarded in exceptional circumstances.
General Considerations:
In considering the award of Life Membership an individual should have demonstrated significant, sustained and high quality service enhancing the reputation and future of the Riverton Calisthenics Club.
The criteria shall be:
(1) The length of service to the Club should be at least 15 years in either a competitive, coaching or administrative role.
(2) The general attitude and overall demeanour of the nominee should be one that reflects a dedication to the values of the Club.
(3) Valued leadership and good role modelling that reflects credit upon the Club.
Process for Assessing Applications for Life Membership:
(1) The proposal shall be nominated by 2 financial members of the Club and submitted to the Life Membership Committee for endorsement and presentation at the AGM.
(2) The Life Membership Committee shall consist of 2 members of the Executive Committee and 1 active Life Member.
(3) Applications for Life Membership shall be received by the Club Secretary at least 28 days prior to the AGM or Special General Meeting being held.
(4) Voting for a person to become a Life Member is carried by a ¾ vote of persons present and eligible to vote at an AGM or SGM.
